During the army's combat readiness check, Lukashenka did without Khrenin
A combat readiness check continues in the Armed Forces of Belarus, which is already on its second day . According to the Ministry of Defense, a mechanized formation is being brought to full readiness as part of the check, and additional units are being involved. However, State Secretary of the Security Council Alexander Volfovich, for his part, stated that this check has a peculiar feature.

According to Volfovich, a new scheme was applied: Lukashenka passed the order to bring the military unit to combat readiness directly to the commander of the mechanized brigade through the State Secretary of the Security Council, bypassing the Ministry of Defense and Minister Viktor Khrenin.
Volfovich also emphasized that Lukashenka personally controls the course of the inspection daily, hears reports on the fulfillment of assigned tasks, and gives instructions. At the same time, the Minister of Defense does not interfere in the process of conducting the inspection.
As Volfovich explained, this scheme is related to the tense military-political situation in the world, which requires constant high combat readiness of troops.
Last year, Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin was the last person Lukashenka allegedly spoke to publicly. 15 minutes before the arrival of 2026, propagandists showed that allegedly before going to speak in the studio — it is known that the address is recorded in advance — Lukashenka dialed the number of Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin via government communication and asked him:
«Well, how are you doing there? How are our adversaries, rivals, and, God forbid, enemies? Well, you understand, some are celebrating, others are marking something, but you and I are not for holidays. We need to see everything that is happening.»
After that, having conveyed greetings to "all people in uniform" through Khrenin, Lukashenka allegedly went to make his address-greeting.
