"Three bison crossed the road." A priest recounted a Christmas visit where "there were more animals than people."
The parish priest of the Catholic parish in Rositsa, Verkhnyadzvinsk district, the well-known preacher Father Alyaksandr Zharnasek, recounted unusual encounters in his public post , noted the publication Katolik.life.
The priest walked to the urban settlement of Asveya to carry out a traditional Christmas pastoral visit to local believers.
Along the way, the priest encountered several types of forest animals and photographed them. Father Alyaksandr wrote with humor:
"The weekdays of a village priest. Such was the Christmas visit in Asveya. Three bison crossed my path near Rositsa. Then there were four elk. A deer was quite close, and for me, that's a rarity. As for roe deer, they walked in groups – that's normal. In short, there were clearly more wild animals than people during the Christmas visit."
The distance from Rositsa to Asveya is 27 kilometers. The road runs along the forest, but the photos show that the priest also walked along forest paths. He also shared sketches of winter nature and photos of ruined buildings.
