"It's already on its way!!!": Trump announced sending a floating hospital to Greenland
U.S. President Donald Trump published an unclear message on his social media account — he announced the start of a humanitarian mission off the coast of Greenland. Trump reported that the United States is sending a large medical vessel to the island to assist the local population.
"Together with the fantastic Governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, we are going to send a large hospital ship to Greenland to take care of many sick people who are not receiving the necessary help there. It's already on its way!!!" Trump wrote.

The statement was made ahead of a dinner for Republican governors at the White House, where Trump actively discussed the issue with Landry. Neither the White House nor the governor's office has yet provided details of the mission. Media outlets are speculating about which ship the U.S. president had in mind.
After his return to the White House, Trump resumed rhetoric about the necessity of establishing U.S. control over Greenland, citing the region's strategic importance in countering Russia and China.
In January at the forum in Davos, he announced his intention to begin immediate negotiations to purchase the island from Denmark: "People thought I would use force, but I don't need to use force. I don't want to use force. I won't use force."
The current dispatch of a "floating hospital" could be another step in a "soft power" tactic.
