While he was being shown the calf nursery, Lukashenka was in a benevolent mood, but in the yard, where the animals are kept in open enclosures, he decided to probe deeper.
Taking a pitchfork and lifting a layer of straw, Lukashenka found uncleaned snow and ice underneath, which became a reason to lecture his subordinates.

He said that for such an attitude towards calves, not only the employees of the agro-complex but also the officials responsible for it should be "beaten like Sidorov's goat" (a Belarusian idiom meaning to be severely punished). And not for the first time, even recently, Lukashenka warned the heads of the agricultural enterprise that they would "answer with their heads for the calves," qualifying the snow under the straw as a crime.
