Ukraine announced that it had managed to eliminate a communication network that helped Russian "Shahed" kamikaze drones penetrate the north of the country from Belarus. This was reported by Ukraine's Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov during a meeting with journalists, writes " Ukrainska Pravda ".

According to Fedorov, this refers to the so-called Mesh network used by drones.
Its destruction, as the official noted, positively impacted the defense capabilities of Kyiv and the central regions of Ukraine. However, he did not disclose the details of the operation.
Advisor to the Minister of Defense Serhiy Beskrestnov, with the call sign "Flash", explained that a Mesh network operates on the principle of mutual retransmission: each element of the system simultaneously transmits a signal to others. However, managing such a network requires nodal points through which information from the drones reaches Russian operators. According to Beskrestnov, such points were located on the territory of Russia and Belarus and consisted of, for example, tall towers with powerful antennas directed towards Ukraine.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that equipment was located near the Belarusian-Ukrainian border that helped guide "Shaheds" to targets in the western regions of Ukraine.
