Iran announced the opening of the Strait of Hormuz

The Strait of Hormuz is open to tankers "until further notice," announced former IRGC commander and secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council, General Mohsen Rezaei. His statement was quoted by the Financial Times.

The Strait of Hormuz is considered one of the most important maritime trade routes in the world: about a fifth of global oil and gas supplies are transported through it.

Yesterday, the Iranian agency Tasnim, which is associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, citing sources, reported the closure of the strait.
