"I want to be like that in old age!" 87-year-old pensioner conquered social networks with her fitness
"What kind of cat, tigress, panther in a red suit is that?" — is one of the most popular comments on Threads under photos , in which 87-year-old Katsiaryna Makarevich is doing exercises. Users admire her physical form and flexibility, and some even decided that artificial intelligence must have been involved, writes Smartpress.
This winter, Katsiaryna Parfionawna lives in Minsk — her children brought her from the agro-town Drazhna (Staryya Darohi district) to stay with them and wait out the frosts.
All her life, she worked in Minsk as a kindergarten teacher, leading Belarusian-speaking groups.
After retiring, Katsiaryna Parfionawna returned to her native Drazhna to care for her mother, and then became attached to the village.
"I've never been on diets, but I've always been slender. I even kept a cow three years ago! You know what kind of farm I had: pigs, geese. You can't relax with them. Now only chickens are left, and I gave those to a neighbor for the winter, and I myself, with my cat Musia, went to the capital."
Now the pensioner does exercises every morning.
"Every morning I spend 10-15 minutes warming up my body — I need it like air. If I don't move, I feel bad."
Katsiaryna Parfionawna's exercises include: light walking-running, forward bends touching the floor, torso rotations, arm raises to the sides. The pensioner notes that she can do 30 "corners" with her legs (lifting legs while lying on her back) in one go.
The woman was read several popular comments under her photos with exercises: "Be careful with such photos, or they'll raise the retirement age!", "At 22, I can't get out of bed, and she's jumping around like that at 87!", "I want to be like that in old age!".
"Is all this about me? — the woman says, embarrassed. — It's pleasant. My [granddaughter] Dasha uploaded my photos to the internet, and people liked them. Once I tried to stand on my head against the wall. I studied everything to make it safe. But my son didn't allow it (laughs)."
"I know that one of my exercises, it turns out, is actually from this very yoga. It's called the 'Happy Baby Pose.' That's what Dasha was told online. And I don't mind, because from time to time I really am like that child: I rejoice in the simple things and smile at a new day."
