Lithuanian border guard wounded at border, migrants tried to drag him into Belarus
During the detention of migrants, about two dozen foreigners attacked border guards.

The incident took place on the territory of the Kapčiamiestis border outpost of the Varėna border unit at the end of July. One of the border guards sustained minor injuries, and migrants tried to drag him towards Belarusian territory, reported Lrytas.
The information that one of the employees is on sick leave was confirmed to the portal by Vitalijus Jagminas, chairman of the trade union of pre-trial investigation institutions of Vilnius County.
The Delfi portal was the first to report on the incident last week. According to its data, in the Lazdijai district, after the discovery of a tunnel dug under the state border, four border guards set up an ambush.
Border guards detained several migrants and handcuffed them, however, during the detention, about 20 foreigners attacked the officers.
The latter had to flee, while illegal migrants, including those who were handcuffed, hid in Belarus. The Lithuanian State Border Guard Service reported about the discovered tunnel and the escaped migrants, but did not mention the attack on its officers.
Head of the Border Guard Service Rustam Liubaev repeatedly denied claims that an attack could have been carried out on the officers. According to him, the Service failed to establish such a fact.
