Minsk continues its work with dilapidated, neglected, and unused buildings that may pose a danger to city residents. The issue of demolishing such structures was discussed at a meeting led by the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kukharev, writes "Minsk-Novosti" agency.

Six buildings slated for demolition have been included in the capital's investment program for 2026. After the demolition of these structures, the territories must be brought into proper sanitary condition.
Two such buildings, it is reported, have already been demolished. One of them was located in the area of Petrusia Brouki Street (the former regional children's hospital building), the other — on Rabkarauka Street (a "Stalinka" in the style of Soviet classicism). Work is currently underway on a site on Inžynernaja Street and on another building on Petrusia Brouki Street. By the end of the year, authorities plan to demolish two more dilapidated structures.
In total, after inspections conducted in various districts of Minsk, 151 problematic buildings have been identified. According to city authorities, all these structures are unsuitable for further use, and therefore it is impractical to preserve them.
Officials name the safety and comfort of residents as the main priority in bringing order. Neglected buildings, they say, not only detract from the city's appearance but can also pose a real danger to children and adults.
Separately, the meeting addressed the issue of maintaining buildings and structures that have not been used for a long time. According to the Minsk City Department of Emergency Situations, 52 such objects are on the relevant register.
