The OMON special unit detained a 30-year-old citizen of one of the Central Asian countries, who lived in Gomel and had two legal businesses there, reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service.

One of the migrants who allegedly came to work in Belarus
According to law enforcement, the man organized an illegal migration scheme. He owned a passenger transportation company, and later formally expanded his activities, allegedly engaging in clothing manufacturing. Under the guise of establishing a sewing production, he prepared forged documents for foreigners and submitted them to state institutions.
Thus, according to the investigation, the man facilitated the obtaining of Belarusian entry visas for 20 migrants, charging $300 from each. The foreigners arrived in Belarus, lived in rented apartments, but did not work and, according to available information, sought to move to European Union countries.
The organizer was detained with the participation of OMON. A criminal case has been initiated against him. The migrants were brought to administrative responsibility: most have already left the country independently or were deported, while some are in a temporary detention facility. Investigators continue to identify other possible participants in the scheme.
