Minsk resident wanted to sue the police for 7,000 rubles for distributing photos of her family in chats and even went to court
The woman complained that frames from the store's video surveillance system began to be distributed in the working chats of teachers and educators of Zavodski district. The photos showed herself, her husband, and their four-year-old child. The photos were accompanied by a caption about the need to "urgently identify the citizens."

The Minsk resident learned that she had become a "star" of pedagogical communities from her colleagues and the educators of her son's kindergarten.
Photos from video surveillance systems were distributed in chats among school teachers and kindergarten educators located in the Zavodski district. They showed the woman herself, her husband, and their four-year-old child. The images were accompanied by a message about the need to urgently identify the citizens. The woman learned about this from a colleague and the educators of her son's kindergarten.
The educators were concerned and perplexed by this situation. As the mother found out, the distribution was initiated by the Juvenile Affairs Inspectorate of the Zavodski District Department of Internal Affairs.
In the district department itself, the woman was told that they acted according to the law, but she disagreed and filed a lawsuit.
In the lawsuit, the Minsk resident demanded that the actions of the police be declared illegal and that moral compensation be paid: 5,000 rubles to her and 2,000 rubles to her son.
However, the court denied the claims. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the woman's husband stole goods worth 145 rubles from the store.
A person's consent to the processing of their personal data is not required if it is necessary for the police to perform their official duties — the court replied.
The court did not take into account that not only the husband but also his wife and 4-year-old child suffered.
The court concluded that the claims for compensation for moral damage in connection with the violation of the Law "On Personal Data Protection" are not subject to satisfaction.
