Alexander Lukashenka proposed connecting Lahoysk with Minsk by railway transport to develop this city as a satellite of the capital. He stated this during his visit today to the Lahoysk district, writes BelTA.

"Regarding Lahoysk, we say that it is a satellite of Minsk. Perhaps some railway line needs to be built. I've looked into it. Maybe even lay tracks along the roadside in both directions and launch [a train]... Something needs to be done. We need to stop all housing construction in Minsk and build housing in all these satellite cities. People would be in Minsk in 20-30 minutes. They'd work – and return back. But that's a separate conversation," he said.
