After some time, she was contacted by alleged law enforcement officers who informed her that she had previously spoken with fraudsters. The caller threatened criminal prosecution and convinced the applicant to transfer 18 thousand euros to a woman who was allegedly a bank employee and came to declare the money, reports "Minsk Police".
The Kastrychnitski District Department of Internal Affairs identified the courier – she turned out to be a 48-year-old Minsk resident who had previously herself fallen victim to fraudsters and gave 19 thousand rubles to a courier, allegedly for transferring money to a secure account.
To help the woman avoid criminal liability, they instructed her to perform several tasks: draw the emblem of the department, and then pick up money at the specified address.
She followed all instructions and went to the train station to leave the country. At that moment, a real police officer called her phone and stopped the further transfer of money.
The money has been confiscated and will be returned to its owner.
