According to February results, Geely/Belgee brands accounted for about 65% of new car sales in Belarus.

Russian cars lose ground
Last month, dealers sold 2.7 thousand units of Geely/Belgee, which is 41% more than in January. In parallel, sales of Russian Lada, which still ranked second in popularity in the Belarusian market by the end of 2025, continue to fall.
In February, only 470 Ladas were sold, which is 13% less than a month earlier.
Which models are most popular?
According to last year's results, the most popular was the Belgee X50, previously sold under the name Geely Coolray. In 2025, about 11,400 such crossovers were sold.
In second place was the Belgee S50 sedan (Geely Emgrand): last year, Belarusians bought almost 6,300 Chinese-Belarusian-made sedans.
The Belgee X70 (Geely Atlas Pro) compact SUV rounds out the top three with almost 5,000 sales.
What is the secret to its success?
Firstly, Geely has almost no competitors in the new car market in Belarus in terms of price/quality ratio. After global car manufacturers, primarily such as VW and Renault, left Russia, the choice of cars narrowed.
Secondly, preferential lending programs are available for the purchase of Belarusian-made cars, which is also important.
In addition, due to sanction restrictions, importing used cars from Europe and the USA has become more difficult and expensive.
However, the incredibly high demand for Belarusian-assembled cars should not be considered exclusively forced.
The fact is that already by the end of 2021, Geely ranked second in popularity, surpassing VW and Renault.

The sales leader in the last pre-sanction year was the Russian Lada with 11,669 cars. Geely, in second place, sold 7,422 cars that year.
Since it is often useful to compare the situation with other countries for understanding, we looked at what could be purchased in Lithuania for the price of Belarusian-Chinese cars.
The most affordable Belgee model is the S50 sedan. Prices start from 53,500 rubles (about 15,900 euros) for the base Comfort trim with a 5-speed manual transmission.

A car with an automatic transmission in the Comfort Plus trim costs from 56,900 rubles (about 16,900 euros).
In Lithuania, the cheapest new car on the market is the Dacia Sandero, which is a class lower than the Belgee S50. In the base trim with a one-liter engine and manual transmission, such a car costs 15,000 euros.

A Dacia Sandero with an automatic transmission and a 120 hp engine costs from 18,100 euros, which is more than 1,000 euros more expensive than an automatic Belgee S50.
The most popular car in Belarus is the Belgee X50 (Geely Coolray) crossover. It is sold at prices starting from 61,900 rubles (about 18,350 euros). This will be a car with an automatic transmission and a 1.5-liter engine with 177 hp.

The cheapest crossover in Europe is the Dacia Duster. The French-Romanian SUV costs from 18,190 euros in Lithuania.
And this will be a car with a three-cylinder, 1-liter engine with 100 hp, which comes with a gas installation from the factory. It has a manual gearbox, and even steel wheel rims.

Prices for the version with an automatic transmission and alloy wheels start from 21,200 euros, which is almost 3,000 euros more expensive than the Belgee X50, which also has a more powerful engine.
If we compare the prices of popular Belarusian-assembled Geely/Belgee models not with Dacia, the cheapest brand in Europe specializing in budget-segment cars, but with others, the prices of Chinese-Belarusian cars look even more attractive.
For example, prices for the small car Opel Corsa start from 19,500 euros, and for the compact crossover Mokka — from 26,460 euros.
The cheapest car in the Peugeot lineup — the "208" — costs from 20,500 euros. This is the price for a car in the base trim with a petrol engine and manual transmission.

And prices for hybrid compact crossovers Peugeot 2008 start from 26,000 euros.
