The design of Belarus's radioactive waste repository has been revealed
The Belarusian Organization for Radioactive Waste Management (BelRAO) published a video with the concept and architectural solutions for the future radioactive waste disposal facility, although the final site for its construction has not yet been selected.

Several possible locations for the Belarusian NPP's waste repository are being considered: Navasiolki village near Khoiniki, Mstislau district of Mogilev region, or Astravets district of Grodno region. The process of selecting a specific territory is currently underway.

During a working meeting with the participation of the chief designers of RUE "BelNIPIenergoprom", architectural and planning solutions and the general concept of the future facility were discussed. BelRAO noted that the main goal is to create a repository that will completely isolate radioactive waste from the environment and comply with the strictest international safety standards. At the same time, the key parameters of the future complex have not yet been disclosed.

Previously, it was only reported that the repository's area would be approximately one square kilometer. Around 941 million rubles are planned to be spent on the project's implementation, and the facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2030.
