The Mak.by restaurant plans to change the name of americano coffee after Alexander Lukashenka visited the restaurant on March 8 and ordered to make a "Belarusian brand" based on this drink. This was announced in an Instagram story by pro-government TV presenter Volha Makei, noted "Zerkalo".

After the renaming proposed by Lukashenka, Makei conducted a poll among her subscribers to find out what would be the best Belarusian name for americano. The restaurant noticed this post and invited the presenter to a meeting where possible options for the new name were discussed.
At the meeting, restaurant employees even prepared a voting form and hoped to choose an interesting name for the coffee. Makei did not specify which option was chosen, but noted that the name should be clear, associated with coffee, and look good on the menu.
