Internet users asked to help a French cafe in Minsk — as a result, everything was sold out, even croissants for 8.5 rubles

A few days ago, a call was made on Threads to support Café Bonjour, which might close due to financial problems. Today, the cafe's account posted about the consequences of that call — it turns out the cafe is now struggling to cope with the influx of visitors.

A post about Sebastian's French cafe appeared on Threads on March 11. A resident of Minsk called for saving the cafe:

"This is Sebastian's lovely French cafe called Bonjour. He's been trying to survive for almost a year, but says he's barely holding on now. Please support the guys, they have very delicious croissants, coffee, and panna cotta!"

The Minsker's post garnered almost 17 thousand likes, as well as hundreds of comments. People's opinions were divided — some called for solidarity, while others were outraged by the high prices. Indeed, an almond croissant for 8.5 rubles and a chocolate bun for 9 rubles are higher than average prices.

On March 12, the cafe owners thanked for the support, and on the 13th, they hinted — Belarusian solidarity proved so strong that it was not easy to cope with:

"Thank you for your incredible interest in Café Bonjour. Since yesterday, you have practically completely bought out all our supplies, and now we are working in a very stressful mode. If you can, try not to come in too large numbers today afternoon and this weekend so that we can serve everyone well."

Commentators took the call to stay home with humor — saying, "make up your minds, do you need customers or not?"
