The son of Maria and her husband Aliaksandr Zhylach was born in the seventh maternity hospital in Minsk.
“When, in the eighth or ninth month, I felt myself starting to get scared, I refocused from fear to curiosity. And the thought settled in my head: ‘I wonder how it will go?’ ” Maria recalls her struggle with anxiety.
The birth was partner-assisted and was led by the head of the department, Iryna Zamara. "Very sensitive, knows how to listen, and incredibly professional," Vasilevich writes.
In addition, "my husband was always by my side."
Maria had model parameters — 53.5 kg with a height of 176 cm. Despite the advice of some doctors to gain weight even before pregnancy, she stuck to the idea that if tests and well-being are normal, then this is her working weight. During pregnancy, she gained 8.5 kg.
“I also often met doctors on my journey who insisted that I should gain weight. But I came to the following conclusion for myself:
- If you have a healthy relationship with food (you can afford that coveted cake at any time of day or night without pangs of conscience).
- Your tests and well-being are normal.
- You have enough energy.
- Your weight is stable.
- Then this number (even if it doesn't fit into the doctor's tables) is your norm," she believes.
"Girls, never compare your numbers with others. I did this myself for about 8 years, and it leads to nothing good. Bodies are so unique in everyone that there are no universal norms for everyone. The only guide is your well-being, energy, and health (physical and mental)," she writes.

Before pregnancy, Maria actively engaged in sports — yoga, strength training, cardio, Pilates.
“In the first trimester, I vainly tried to exercise carefully at home, but after 5-10 minutes, I was already lying on the couch with severe shortness of breath and fatigue, as if after a marathon. In the 2nd-3rd trimesters, there were yoga and Pilates classes for pregnant women — I liked Pilates more here.”
As a result, there were 15-minute workouts combining exercises, stretching, and yoga. But every morning.
To Maria's own surprise, her body during pregnancy "worked at full capacity": the vitamin deficiency she had struggled with earlier disappeared on its own.
But there was fatigue and lack of appetite in the first trimester. As for taste preferences — she didn't want red meat in the first trimester, and there was a complete refusal of coffee in the first and third. "I didn't eat chalk," Vasilevich adds.
Vasilevich says that she managed to avoid serious stretch marks after childbirth thanks to genetics, as she often felt too lazy to use special creams. After childbirth, she is currently only using tapes on her abdominal muscles and plans to return to sports.
To the question, "How did you manage to get back in shape?" she answered: "I haven't returned yet))".
Maria Vasilevich became known not only for her beauty crown but also for her political career. At 22, she became the youngest deputy of the House of Representatives. In 2020, she publicly visited beaten protesters in the hospital. After the end of her parliamentary term in 2024, she changed her field of activity and became the host of the children's program "Kalykhanka" (Lullaby). From Lukashenka's closest circle after 2020, it seems she fell out.
In 2025, it became known that she married Aliaksandr Zhylach. He is a former football player, who played for FC Uzda. He works in the construction sector. Earlier, media reported about Aliaksandr as the head of some projects at RUP "Belbudtsentr" in St. Petersburg.
