«Greeting of Spring» canceled in Vetka due to Khatyn tragedy anniversary
The celebration was planned for March 22.

The traditional "Greeting of Spring" festival, which was planned for March 22, has been canceled in Vetka. This was announced by the Vetka Museum of Old Believers and Belarusian Traditions in its official statement, writes "Shtodzen'."
Previously, the museum published an announcement for the event, but the next day reported its cancellation. According to the explanation, the festival will not take place "due to a recommendation not to hold mass events in memory of the sad anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy."
«Greeting of Spring» is one of the most famous folk festivals of the Belarusian calendar cycle. It symbolizes the farewell to winter and the arrival of new life. In the late 1980s and 1990s, this festival, along with Kupalle and Shchedry, became one of the key cultural events of the national revival.
