Sergei Doronin, not a very prominent media figure, whose photograph was not even in the databases of political prisoners, was included in the list of those pardoned on March 19, 2026. We barely found this picture of Sergei, from his own backyard.
Sergei is 51 years old. He is from Horki. Judging by his social media, he worked as an ordinary laborer.
Doronin was arrested in October 2024 during a raid on participants of local and city communities. For this, he was sentenced to two and a half years of imprisonment for "participation in an extremist formation" (Part 3, Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code).
Sergei's wife, 52-year-old Natalia Doronina, was arrested along with him. She is originally from St. Petersburg but has lived most of her life in Belarus, in Horki. Previously, she was an individual entrepreneur, trading in a kiosk.
Natalia was charged under more serious articles – participation in an extremist formation (Part 3, Article 361-1) and participation in a conspiracy to seize state power (Part 1, Article 357 of the Criminal Code).
On March 19, she had her final trial. Natalia was sentenced to 8.5 years in a penal colony.
