In connection with this, the relevant city services are focused on intensified work to catch stray animals. Crews have been formed by the services to conduct raids and catch stray dogs. "Strict measures will be taken to catch stray animals due to the difficult situation in the city. Safety and comfort in the city depend not only on the work of public utility services but also on the civic awareness of residents," said Ruslan Parkhamovich, Chairman of the Gomel City Executive Committee, writes BelTA.
Also, a hotline has started operating in the regional center, where you can report cases of stray dog gatherings: +375 (29) 677— 37‑30 (animal control service of KPUP "Spetshammuntrans").
The city executive committee reminded pet owners to strictly observe walking rules: use a muzzle and leash in all public places, except for specially designated areas.
"Remember: it is forbidden to walk dogs on children's and sports grounds, on the territories of schools, kindergartens, medical institutions, in parks and recreation areas where prohibitory signs are installed. It is strictly forbidden to feed stray animals. Such actions worsen the situation: the animal begins to consider a certain territory its own and aggressively defends it, including from people," emphasized the city executive committee.
Previously, on May 8, stray dogs attacked a girl. The child was promptly taken to the hospital and received assistance.
