A 42-year-old man was detained in the Minsk district for illegal cultivation of cannabis. 18 bushes of this plant, prohibited in Belarus, were found in his possession and confiscated.

According to the Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, the man worked as the head of a rural house of culture.

A criminal case has been initiated against him for illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic or psychotropic substances. He may face a fine, arrest, restriction of liberty, or imprisonment for up to three years.
