According to information from the Investigative Committee, on the afternoon of June 10, two boys, aged 13 and 12, were playing in the yard.
At a certain point, the ball they were playing with fell into a pond dug on the homestead territory. The older boy tried to retrieve it with his foot but slipped and fell into the water. The younger one also rushed to help but also ended up in the water.
The 12-year-old managed to cling to a tree root and call for help. Adults who ran to the cries helped him get out. The 13-year-old boy, however, could not be saved — his body was recovered from the water by MES rescuers.
It is reported that the depth of the pond is about 1.5 meters. Investigators are currently conducting a check and ascertaining all the circumstances of the incident.
