The conference is hosted by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The Ukrainian delegation is led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not come to Gdansk amid problems in Polish-Ukrainian relations, which reportedly arose after one of the units was named "Heroes of UPA," which caused a sharp reaction in Poland. In particular, the country's president Karol Nawrocki stripped Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle.
Also among the conference participants are President of the European Council António Costa, head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, as well as heads of governments and leaders of other EU countries.
