Losik told about a special kind of torture in the punishment cell (SHIZA)

"He heard people hitting their heads against the wall in neighboring cells."

Ex-political prisoner Ihar Losik spoke about a special method of psychological pressure and torture used in the Navapolatsk punishment cell (SHIZA).

According to him, inmates were forced to listen to the same audio recording for "14 hours" a day.

As an example, Losik cited a 26-minute lecture by psychologist Mark Barton "How to Resolve Conflicts."

The journalist calculated that he had to listen to it "about one and a half thousand times" during his stay in the isolation ward.

The pressure of the sound proved to be such a severe ordeal that some prisoners could not endure it.

"He heard people hitting their heads against the wall in neighboring cells so as not to listen to it," Ihar describes this experience.

Ihar Losik is a well-known blogger and journalist who was sentenced to 15 years in a penal colony on charges of inciting hatred and organizing mass riots. In September 2025, as part of a group of other political prisoners, he was deported from Belarus to Lithuania.

Лосик, займись чем-нибудь полезным белорусскому делу, и, может быть, вскоре твои враги будут биться о стену в камерах. Нельзя всю жизнь скучать по тюрьме и оставаться жертвой. Это не по-христиански.
