Strong winds caused significant damage to residential and farm buildings in the Voranava district. According to information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the elements damaged the roofs of 140 residential buildings, as well as ten agricultural facilities.
A special commission has been established in the Voranava district to assess the consequences of the bad weather and organize restoration work.
In addition, rescuers responded 25 times to saw and clear fallen trees in five districts of Hrodna region. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.
Overall, on Monday, the western regions of Belarus were affected by thunderstorms with strong winds. In Hrodna, some streets were flooded after heavy rains, and parts of Pastavy district temporarily lost power supply.
In the Pastavy region, consumers receiving electricity from the "Kamai", "Lyntupy" and "Verenki" substations were temporarily without electricity. As of 20:00, four 10 kV power transmission lines were disconnected, as a result of which some residents of Pastavy remained without light.
