In Poland, a Belarusian drove a truck with over four per mille of alcohol
In the Polish city of Siemianowice Śląskie, a court in an expedited procedure sentenced a 44-year-old citizen of Belarus who got behind the wheel of a truck while heavily intoxicated, local police reported .
The incident took place on July 29 on the premises of one of the local enterprises. The Belarusian arrived there to unload goods. After he parked the vehicle and exited the cabin, a security guard noticed that the driver was behaving suspiciously and reported it to the police.
Road police officers who arrived at the scene tested the man for alcohol. The examination showed that he had more than four per mille of alcohol in his system. After this, the driver was detained and charged with driving a vehicle while intoxicated.
Already the next day, the case was heard by the court in an expedited procedure. The court found the Belarusian guilty and sentenced him to eight months of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of two years.
In addition, the man was deprived of the right to drive any mechanical vehicles for five years. He must also pay 7,000 Polish zlotys (approximately $1875) to the Victim and Post-Penitentiary Assistance Fund, as well as in the form of a fine.
Following this incident, the police applied to the Polish Border Guard Service with a request to issue a decision on the forced return of the Belarusian citizen to his country of origin.
