Belarusians who could not obtain educational documents at home can enroll in Polish universities under a special procedure
Belarusians who cannot obtain educational documents in their homeland due to the threat of persecution can enroll in Polish higher education institutions under a special procedure. This was reported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland in response to a joint appeal from the Representation of the United Transitional Cabinet for National Revival and the Representation for Youth Policy and Student Affairs.

This refers to citizens of Belarus who were forced to leave the country and cannot obtain an apostille, a diploma supplement, a school certificate, or other documents required for admission, as contacting Belarusian state bodies could be dangerous for them.
The Polish ministry reminded that the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) introduced special mechanisms back in 2022, allowing the validation of foreign education even in the absence of a complete set of documents.
Through the SYRENA system, individuals with refugee status or additional international protection, as well as persons who cannot obtain the necessary documents for political reasons, can apply under a simplified procedure.
When filling out the application form, it is necessary to indicate at the first stage that the application is being submitted under the refugee procedure. In this case, it is not required to submit the document that was the basis for admission to the previous level of education, nor an appendix with a list of studied subjects and grades. Instead, a document confirming refugee status or the receipt of additional protection is sufficient.
In addition, the Ministry noted that Polish universities may not require certified copies of documents if a citizen of Belarus is unable to obtain them due to reasons beyond their control.
However, the final decision on admission and the list of necessary documents in each specific case is made by the higher education institution itself.
In the Mironets family, the mother and three sisters have already been convicted for political reasons. Now the husband of one of the sisters has been arrested
