In Minsk, a girl with a unique diagnosis for Belarus was successfully operated on
In Minsk, doctors successfully operated on a girl with an extremely rare pathology for Belarus — non-parasitic chyluria. The young patient was admitted to the 2nd City Children's Clinical Hospital with a diagnosis that specialists had previously encountered mainly in medical literature, writes the agency "Minsk-News".

Chyluria occurs when a pathological connection forms between the lymphatic vessels of the intestine and the kidneys. As a result, lymph enters the urine. The disease can lead to fat loss, biochemical abnormalities, and a general deterioration of the body's condition.
In approximately 95% of cases, chyluria is a complication of parasitic infection. Non-parasitic forms are much rarer — accounting for about 5% of cases. The exact frequency of this disease is unknown, and only individual cases have been described in medical literature.
Initially, doctors attempted conservative treatment, but it did not yield the necessary result. Therefore, the decision was made to perform surgery.
The very next day after the surgical intervention, the girl's tests returned to normal. Successful treatment allowed her condition to stabilize.
