Latvia has changed the procedure for booking appointments at its visa centers in Minsk and Vitebsk. What applicants now need to do was explained in the Telegram channel "Visa Mole".
The new registration rules are already in effect for all categories of applicants. They are similar to those already practiced by Poland and Italy.
Those wishing to obtain a Latvian visa will have to go through standard steps — create an account, select a visa center, and a visa category.
The main change occurred at the verification stage. Here's what you need to know:
- the system will require mandatory uploading of the active passport page with a photograph;
- the applicant must pass a digital verification to protect the system from automatic registrations;
- after successful verification, a confirmation and a unique application number will be sent to the email address.
When free slots appear, the applicant will receive a notification. Exactly 72 hours are allotted for choosing the date and time for submitting documents, after which the application will be canceled.
If the need for the trip has disappeared, the registration can be canceled independently in the personal account on VFS Global.
The visa center also noted that all confirmed appointments until August 31 remain valid and do not require re-undergoing the procedure.
Other applicants will have to adapt to the new algorithms to get a chance to obtain Latvian entry permits, the issuance of which is strictly limited.
