Complex operation to restore blood circulation in a leg performed in Minsk

Doctors at the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology performed a complex multi-stage intervention to restore blood vessels in the left leg. The operation was performed in a hybrid operating room, the center reported .

The entire procedure took place within one day and included several stages. First, a stent was inserted into the patient's external iliac artery through a puncture.

After that, surgeons removed atherosclerotic plaques from an important section of the femoral artery and installed a special "Biocard" patch.

As a result, doctors managed to fully restore blood flow in the vessels of the left leg.
