Man shoots eight people, including children, then kills himself in the US
Among the victims of the shooting in Erie, Pennsylvania, are a pregnant woman and two children. According to police, eight of the nine deceased, including the attacker, were members of the same family.
The shooting took place on the evening of October 9 at a house on Perry Street. Reuters, citing police, reports that a 45-year-old man killed eight people before, according to preliminary information, shooting himself. His name has not yet been released.
Erie Police Chief Rick Lora stated that the attacker first entered the house, then went outside and shot two women who were asking for help from neighbors at the time.
Police found the attacker deceased on the second floor of the house.
According to Lora, eight of the nine deceased were members of the same family, while another was a family friend. The motive for the killings has not yet been determined.
