In Italy, an ultralight helicopter collided with cables in the sky and crashed VIDEO
The tragedy occurred on August 26 in the Antrona mountain valley in the northern Italian region of Piedmont, near the artificial lake Campiloci at an altitude of about 1400 meters.
According to preliminary information, the ultralight helicopter snagged electrical cables, after which it caught fire and fell to the ground. Two people were on board — a 62-year-old pilot and a 63-year-old passenger, his brother's wife. Both died.
Firefighters, police, medics, and rescuers arrived at the scene. A medical helicopter was also called, but it was not possible to save the people.
The causes of the accident are still being investigated. Investigators must establish the exact flight trajectory and the circumstances of the collision with the cables.
It later became known that the moment of the catastrophe was accidentally captured on video by one of the tourists.
