The International Committee of the Red Cross reported on the number of people missing since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine.

The number of people who went missing during the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has reached 275,000. This was reported by Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, to "Vedomosti".
According to her, the humanitarian organization records an average of 10,000 new cases per month.
"Over the past four years, we have made significant progress on humanitarian issues. I am very glad that we have managed to increase the number of answers received by families searching for their relatives," Spoljaric Egger stated.
In 2025, the ICRC changed its method for counting search requests in the context of international conflict. Unlike previous years, statistics now include both preliminary requests (search requests that have not yet been formally processed) and formalized requests. This led to an increase in the total number of cases, the organization clarified.
