“They took my medal away from me.”
It was believer Belarus will gain its first Olympic medal on Monday, July 30.
Nastassia Novikava, a Belarusian weightlifter and the gold winner of Beijing 2008, was considered to be the main aspirant for London Olympics prize.
Her result was 230 kg total (103 kg in jerk, 127 kg in snatch). However, judges did not counted the third 133 kg attempt in jerk — her winning one.
“I am now recovering from what happened. You saw it all with your own eyes. The last attempt was the best one. I don’t know what they [judges] did not like. We will appeal. What can I say? They took my medal away from me…” said Nastassia Novikava.
