"That's the way it's done in the Gulf." Eismont explained why Lukashenko flew to Oman with his sons.
Lukashenko's press secretary confirmed that his eldest son, Viktor, oversees relations with Oman. However, he does not hold any government positions.

Natalia Eismont explained why Alexander Lukashenko flew to Oman with his sons Viktor and Nikolai.
According to her, Lukashenko's eldest son actually oversees relations between Belarus and Oman. Because that's supposedly the custom there.
"For them, it is truly a sign of special respect, special attention, and a special attitude towards the development of bilateral cooperation when the person assigned to interaction between countries, to cooperation, is a family member. In this case, the president's eldest son," said Eismont.
She added that for Viktor Lukashenko, this is a serious additional burden and responsibility.
"But that's the custom in those countries. And it really helps. It's extra attention, extra control. It gives a very serious impetus to the development of bilateral relations. That's why the sons were present at the meeting," said Eismont.
However, she did not explain why BSU student Nikolai Lukashenko flew to Oman, who, like Viktor, does not hold any government positions.
Eismont also tried to explain the strange secrecy of Lukashenko's negotiations in Oman. She stated that such principles are adhered to in the region itself.
"In this region, they are used to working in silence, and there is no need to look for any hidden meanings here. This is the format in which they work in this region," Eismont voiced her version.
