The electronic payment system Skrill, founded in London, has started blocking the accounts of Belarusians. Users are receiving messages that "sanction restrictions affect the ability to provide services in your country," writes Office Life .

Account closures happen immediately, and access to money is no longer possible on that day. The messages emphasize that this decision is related to regulatory and sanction restrictions, and not to the user's personal activity.
Since the beginning of March, Russian users have also started receiving similar messages. All accounts registered with a Belarusian or Russian passport, as well as those where these countries are indicated as the place of residence, are being blocked. Money can only be withdrawn to a bank account in the owner's name, but Belarusian and Russian banks are not suitable for this due to sanctions.
Until 2022, Belarusians could use Skrill with restrictions, including not being able to register new accounts.
