"Bysol" launched a fundraiser for political prisoners released on December 13
New political prisoners have just been released. This is joyful news, but also very disturbing. Because after many years in prison, people are being forced out of the country, where they will soon face the challenge of emigration. In this regard, the Solidarity Foundation "Bysol" announces an urgent fundraiser for their needs.

The Foundation is raising funds for urgent assistance to released political prisoners. The goal is to raise 123,000 euros, based on each person receiving 1,000 euros.
âWe call on concerned individuals to join the campaign to support political prisoners on the BYSOL website. Every contribution is very significant, regardless of its amount â any donation will be part of the overall assistance. Because those released on December 13 immediately need funds for the most essential things for the initial period. They will receive money to manage it themselves, according to their own needs and priorities: everyone has their own understanding of urgency and importance,â emphasizes Vitalius Mockus, director of the BYSOL Foundation.

All collected funds will be disbursed to released political prisoners, taking into account bank commissions. According to BYSOL's experience, the minimum necessary amount in such a situation is 2,000 euros. Half of this amount will be received by the released individuals through BYSOL's one-time assistance program, and the other half from this emergency fundraiser.
If more funds are collected than planned, the entire amount will be divided among the recipients.
To receive funds, political prisoners must meet two criteria: have experienced political persecution and give consent (or apply) to receive such assistance. Applications for assistance can be submitted until the end of March 2026. In the event that funds remain for which no one has applied for some reason, the Foundation will direct them to additional payments for those who applied and gave consent earlier.
BYSOL has already organized a similar fundraiser when the regime expelled 52 individuals to Lithuania on September 11, 2025. At that time, 111,000 euros were raised (the goal was 50,000). In response, the released individuals recorded a video of thanks for those who helped them.
