Gomel Resident Stole Delicious Sausage from Store, But Left Passport
A resident of Gomel was tempted by dry-cured sausage in a grocery store on Efremova Street. Initially, he tried to discreetly carry several sticks of sausage out of the sales area. When a security guard saw him, he began to flee.

The 22-year-old Gomel resident had already been convicted of hooliganism. With an outstanding criminal record, he decided to commit a new crime. He took two sticks of sausage from the store shelf, hid them under his jacket, and headed for the exit, bypassing the checkout, writes Belkagomel.by.
The dishonest customer was noticed by a security guard, who caught up with the young man near the exit and offered him to return the goods. But the man started to break free, threw away the sausage, and fled. Only after moving a safe distance from the store did he realize that he had left his bag, and his personal passport inside it, in the hands of the security guard.
That same evening he left for Russia, but was detained there, despite potentially being able to travel using a military ID. However, he is not avoiding responsibility and is currently in the pre-trial detention center in Gomel.
