The Russian Ministry of Defense continues to insist that the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine is under their control.
The ministry published a set of video appeals from servicemen who are allegedly in Kupyansk itself. Company commanders Granit and Uran, as well as assault group commander Kolos, assured that they are successfully fulfilling their assigned tasks and that "the enemy will be defeated."
Z-bloggers view the situation not so optimistically. According to blogger Romanov, Russian soldiers in Kupyansk are separated groups of 2-3 people who are surrounded. "Their prospects, to put it mildly, are difficult. And no one will report about them to Putin," he complains.
Romanov explains that the Russian military leadership announced the capture of Kupyansk "in advance" in late November 2025, without actual success on the ground, and now they are futilely trying to achieve what was announced.
