The book "Noah" by French writer Marc Levy has been declared "extremist materials" in Belarus. The corresponding decision was made by the Central District Court of Minsk, reports Reform.news.
"Noah" is a spy thriller, the action of which takes place in Belarus. The events of the novel unfold in 2020–2022.
In the spring of 2020, housewife Sviatlana wins the presidential election after 27 years of dictator Luchyna's rule. Special services take Sviatlana and her children abroad, and her husband Mikalai is sent to prison. Repressions begin in Belarus. A journalist investigating corruption among the top leadership dies in Minsk.
According to the novel's plot, an international group of hacker-activists ("Group 9") decides to intervene and begins a cyber operation against dictator Luchyna's regime: hackers break into closed KGB databases, uncover secret offshore accounts of the country's leadership, intercept control of state television, evacuate families of repressed activists from the country, and help opposition members avoid arrests.
