Russia as a whole is fully supplied with staple food products of its own production, and there is even a surplus in the milk market — including due to supplies from Belarus. This was reported by Yulia Agloblina, Deputy Chair of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues.

According to the deputy, Russia's needs in key areas of food security are covered: this refers to grain, sunflower oil, sugar, and meat. At the same time, it has not yet reached the planned self-sufficiency targets for vegetables, fruits, berries, as well as milk and dairy products.
However, as Yulia Agloblina noted, thanks to cooperation with Belarus, there are no problems with dairy products. Moreover, there is currently an oversupply of it. Industry representatives, including from the 'Soyuzmoloko' association, reported that a significant amount of milk and dairy products has accumulated in the country.
At the same time, according to the deputy, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia seeks to get rid of this dependence. The main focus is now on increasing the productivity of dairy herds and developing large industrial dairy complexes. Dairy farming, in this regard, has priority in the system of Russian state support and preferential lending.
