Emmanuel Macron stated that the summit participants agreed on mechanisms for monitoring the ceasefire regime, and emphasized that the United States of America would play a key role in this.
He also noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would remain the main force deterring Russian aggression. According to him, after a ceasefire, the Ukrainian army would number around 800,000 military personnel, and Western partners pledged to provide it with support.
Macron added that foreign forces from the "coalition of the willing" countries are planned to be deployed on land, in the air, and at sea to ensure compliance with the ceasefire agreements.
In turn, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that documents concerning security guarantees for Ukraine have already been prepared and will be signed in the near future.
Earlier it was reported that in the event of a ceasefire, the number of foreign peacekeeping contingents in Ukraine could range from 15 to 20 thousand people, and some negotiators expect it could approach 30 thousand.
