Ceiling in Vitebsk high-rise sagged due to improper renovation

It became known that the cause of the sagging of the ceiling slab in the high-rise building on Victory Avenue in Vitebsk was renovation work carried out in violation of established norms and without the necessary permits. This was reported by Ihar Dunets, head of the housing and communal services department of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, according to "Vitbichi".

Currently, the first phase of restoration work has been completed, and residents of apartments in the affected entrance have already returned to their homes.

City services promptly reinforced the emergency slab using modern, high-strength telescopic supports. This stabilized the structure and ensured safety for further living.

Residents of the apartment where the damage occurred, as well as the apartment located above it, will be able to return home tomorrow — after the full completion of all works.
