The verdict was delivered to the girl on January 13 in the Homel Regional Court, reports "Homel Spring".
Human rights defenders were unaware of Natallia Bachurynskaya's detention. It was only after receiving information about her sentencing that it became known she has been in pre-trial detention center No. 3 in Homel since approximately July.
At that time, the oldest political prisoner, Safiya Bachurynskaya, who was released from a women's penal colony on December 13, 2025, after negotiations between US administration representative John Cole and Lukashenka, was also there with her.
Natallia and Safiya Bachurynskaya are not relatives; they simply have the same surname.
Natallia Bachurynskaya often photographed nature, especially birds; she was well-known in the amateur ornithologists' organization "Bird Protection of the Fatherland" (Akhova Ptsushak Batskaushchyny), which was liquidated by the authorities.
