Mountain Avalanche Covered a Passenger Train in Switzerland VIDEO
In the Swiss canton of Valais, on the morning of February 16, a passenger train derailed as a result of an avalanche, with injuries reported. Now a video has appeared showing how it happened.

The incident occurred around 7 a.m. on Monday on the Frutigen — Brig line, between the settlements of Goppenstein and Brig. Initially, it was reported that there were about 80 passengers on the train, but later it turned out that there were 29.
Police reported 9 injured, five of whom were hospitalized, while the rest received assistance on the spot. Traffic on the line was suspended until evening.
The published videos show how a snow avalanche quickly descends the slope and covers part of the train.
Previously, avalanches had already been observed in this area: last week an avalanche closed part of the road near Goppenstein, but then there were no injuries. In recent days, the canton has had the highest avalanche danger levels established.
