Earlier, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and participant in the talks, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that a new round of meetings is expected soon.
The main trilateral talks took place on February 17-18 and were dedicated to ending the war. During the first session, practical issues and mechanisms for possible solutions were discussed. Rustem Umerov also held separate meetings with representatives of the USA, France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland to synchronize positions.
Special Envoy of US President Donald Trump, Steve Whitcoff, noted significant progress following the first day of talks.
On the second day, political and military issues, security parameters, and mechanisms for implementing possible solutions were discussed. Some issues were clarified, while others require additional coordination before submitting solutions to the presidential level.
Vladimir Medinsky called the talks "difficult, but businesslike." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the parties agreed on a constructive approach to monitoring the ceasefire, in which the American side will also participate.
