Kobryn District Department of Internal Affairs is conducting a check into a report made to line 102 about an attempted child abduction, the regional police report.
The operational duty service of the Kobryn District Department of Internal Affairs received a call on February 16 at about 08:30. Police were told that two men were trying to abduct a child and drive away in a car. A patrol immediately left for the scene.
The police clarified the circumstances of the situation.
"A 47-year-old resident of Kobryn left the polyclinic with her six-year-old child. The boy's father, a former partner of the woman and a citizen of another state, drove up there, wishing to take his son. Previously, the man had contacted the Kobryn District Department of Internal Affairs due to disagreements with his cohabitant about the son's place of residence. Police officers explained the requirements of Belarusian legislation, and also that such disputes are resolved in court," explained the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.
