How Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya settled in Warsaw and has she already started boxing? We asked
In early February, the leader began her work in Warsaw, where she moved with part of her team after the level of security in Lithuania was reduced.
This month for Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was rich in international trips and local meetings: the Munich Security Conference, a briefing meeting of ambassadors of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, conversations with Belarusian cultural figures in Warsaw, volunteers, and organizations helping political prisoners.
But has she managed to look around and evaluate Warsaw as a new home? Has a place for a new office already been found? And has the issue with the cosmetologist and boxing coach, whom Tsikhanouskaya was looking for through Threads, been resolved?

«Nasha Niva»: How do you feel in Warsaw in contrast to Vilnius — what's unusual? You previously mentioned that Vilnius had become home.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: Yes, Vilnius was truly like home for me. And it still is. At the most difficult moment, Lithuania welcomed us and extended a helping hand, for which I am very grateful.
And Belarusians always give me the feeling of home. And here, in Warsaw, there are many of them (which is both sad and joyful at the same time).
«NN»: On Threads, your request for recommendations for manicure artists, cosmetologists, and so on, gathered many reactions — have you already found replacements in your new location?
SĆ: A situation simply arose where I needed to find people who know how to do beauty treatments. Threads immediately came to mind. And I thought it would be useful not only for me but for other Belarusians too. That's why I made such a post. That's all.
By the way, over 300 comments were left there — simply a sea of talented Belarusian men and women. It's very difficult to choose — I didn't even have time to review all the links. But I have already eyed a few options.
«NN»: How do you visit specialists, do you require additional security conditions — for example, «the room is only for me at this time»?
SĆ: I am an ordinary person and visit specialists like everyone else. Well, and when I book for the first time, I usually don't use my own name.
«NN»: Cosmetologist and manicure — are these basic for your daily care? What else is part of your beauty routine?
SĆ: Yes, manicure plus hair — coloring and cutting. I do my daily makeup myself.
And the luxurious maximum with our work schedule is good sleep and a day off. I don't get enough sleep.
«NN»: And what about boxing, have you found a trainer in Warsaw too?
SĆ: I've already been to one Belarusian coach, by the way. I liked it very much, but I'll look at other options.
As trainers say: to incorporate sport into your life, you need to find something you enjoy. That's what happened with boxing for me: the workouts are so intense that it's possible to stay in shape and release negative energy.
«NN»: Has the issue with the location for the Warsaw office already been resolved?
SĆ: It's in progress. And we have already reviewed proposals from the Warsaw City Hall. Documentation is being prepared, then there will be renovations, and I hope we will open the doors soon. And we will make sure the office is open to Belarusians.
