The restoration of the mill will be one of the final stages of the entire complex's reconstruction. The buildings where the mill and chapel were formerly located have long been in a dilapidated and ruined state, so they are planned to be restored with maximum preservation of their historical appearance. The preparation of project and estimate documentation is currently being completed.
They want to return to the mill not only its external appearance but also its former function. Inside, a real mill mechanism is planned to be installed, which will grind flour. According to one idea, tourists will be able to try dishes prepared from flour ground at this mill.
The chapel building will receive a new purpose: a multifunctional tourist information and educational center is planned to be opened there, where visitors can learn about the history of the Loshitsa complex.
Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev emphasized that the project must be implemented very carefully. The mill mechanism, he believes, should be clearly visible to visitors, yet operate completely safely.
